English / Grammar

We will have an English Common Assessment this week.  We will discuss and review common and proper nouns as well as identifying subjects and predicates in compound sentences.

 

Social Studies

We will continue to discuss our American Colonial period. We will specifically be discussing who the Puritans were and why they came to the New World.  

Anne Hutchinson and Roger Williams were two important historical figures of the time. Ask your student about the accomplishment of these significant colonists.

English / Grammar

Our Mentor Sententence this week is from a book called Fireflies by Brinckloe. We will be looking at compound sentences as well as reviewing parts of speech, subjects and predicates, and using commas. 

 

Social Studies 

This week we will begin to study our Colonial period. We will learn about Jamestown and Plymouth and then on to the New England Colonies next week.
